We are searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to help tutor students at after-school programs. The ideal candidate will care about young students' academic success and have experience organizing tutorial sessions. This part-time position will require regular communication with tutored students' parents to help ensure that the children are learning and advancing at a steady pace.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements for employment:

• Bachelor's degree (completed)
• Strong background in relevant subjects
• Prior teaching/tutoring experience is preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION

Applicants can expect to teach or tutor individual students, small groups, and classes of up to 25 students. Teachers will be assigned academic subjects, test prep courses, and counseling duties according to their strengths. They will plan classes around provided class material, handle attendance and other academic record keeping, complete student evaluations, be consulted about curriculum design, and attend faculty meetings and workshops.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist high school students in the mastery of relevant subjects
• Instruct multiple students in a small-group tutoring or classroom setting (class sizes range from 5-25 students)
• Monitor and record student progress
• Offer creative solutions to problems, both inside and outside of the classroom

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $28.00 - $45.00 per hour

Schedule:

• After school
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Work Location: San Jose (MUST IN PERSON)

• San Jose, CA 95118 - Reliably commute is Required
