Job Description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Southeastern United States as a Nursing Assistant I, providing essential patient care and support. This role involves assisting with patient admissions, orienting patients to the unit and care routines, and responding promptly to patient needs by communicating with the appropriate healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in patient admissions and orientation to the unit and care equipment.
  • Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
  • Maintain patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Manage and replenish supplies in medication and supply rooms as needed.
  • Ensure a clean, well-stocked patient environment.
  • Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
  • Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
  • Perform additional clinical skills as approved by the nursing board after further education and competency validation.
Education and Formal Training:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current registration as a Nursing Assistant I with the state nursing board.
  • Successful completion of the first semester in an accredited nursing school is preferred.
Experience:
  • No prior work experience required; training and supervision provided.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Competency in basic nursing practices and understanding of the nursing process.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to accept supervision and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility in work tasks and schedules.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Awareness of age-specific patient care considerations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient observation.
  • Potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
