Job Description

Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant providing essential patient care in a stroke medical surgical telemetry unit during night shifts. This role involves assisting with patient admissions, orienting patients to the unit and equipment, and responding promptly to patient needs either directly or by communicating with the care team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support nursing care plans by performing delegated patient care tasks.
• Maintain patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Manage and stock patient care supplies to ensure a clean and well-organized environment.
• Participate actively in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
• Engage in educational and performance improvement activities to enhance care quality.
• Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction, patient flow, and operational efficiency.

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience and Skills:

• No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and shifts.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and turn patients as needed.
• Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
• Exposure to blood and body fluids with adherence to safety protocols.
