Through partnerships with university-wide IDBEA initiatives, the Office of the President's Disability Access Committee (DAC), the Disabilities, Inclusion, and Accessibility Working Group (DIA), the Center for Disability Studies, and other strategic collaborations, the Director will develop and implement strategies that promote accessibility, inclusivity, and awareness. Work closely with the Moses Center senior leadership team to support their overall operations. Engage with global collaborators and leaders from across the University (including current and prospective students, faculty, staff, administrators, alums, and/or visitors). Working with internal and external collaborators, the Director will promote cultural transformation relevant to research-based and evidence-based best practices as well as initiatives emerging from the disability community; develop and implement programs, policies, procedures, and resources across the University. Focus on universal design to promote full accessibility in NYU classes, events, web-based services, buildings and facilities, and programs and services. In support of the advancement of the University's IDBEA goals as they intersect with disability studies, and in compliance with Section 504 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Director will partner with the Center for Disability Studies, Student Affairs, Digital Accessibility, the Office of General Counsel, Facilities and Construction Management, University Human Resources, and other University personnel/departments as necessary. Provide subject-matter expertise and consultative services. Serve as a consultative expert resource and work to ensure that members of the NYU community can participate fully and thrive within their role at NYU regardless of their ability status. Partner with the Provost's office to collaborate with faculty disability inclusive culture initiatives and champion universal design to promote full accessibility to NYU classes, events, web-based services, buildings and facilities, and programs and services. Required Education:
Master's Degree Higher Education Administration, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, Disability Studies or other related fields
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $100,000.00 to USD $140,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
