Director, Specialty Relationship Manager, Corporate Banking

As a Director in the Middle Market Corporate Bank, the individual will be responsible for providing client coverage to corporate clients, to include leverage finance product services, with a focus on mid and large cap-sized companies, both private and public, with annual revenues greater than $250MM. This role serves as the point person on the complete client transactional process, including new client and deal acquisition, financing, idea generation, documentation and closing the transaction. The Banker will be responsible for developing a strategy to ensure appropriate return on equity is achieved by cross-selling the full suite of Capital One’s Capital Markets and Treasury Management products to their client portfolio. Additional responsibilities and duties as specified by manager and team.

Responsibilities:

• Maximizing total product revenue and growth for clients within portfolio and sector and increase quality of revenue based on opportunity

• Loan generation and growing exposure year-over-year for portfolio and clients in sector

• Prominent in the vertical as the recognized expert in corporate banking services respective sector.

• Responsible for leading the corporate banking initiatives and efforts which includes reviewing and supporting relationships, transactions and relative returns, attending prospect meetings and working with both internal and external referral sources

• Directs the activities for a specific corporate banking sector coverage, product, market, etc. within a business unit

• May participate in strategic decision-making outside their specific area.

• Influences and is accountable for business matters of significance through partnership across multiple LOBs within the company.

• Responsible for ensuring there is a reasonably attainable strategy for delivering appropriate return on return on equity

• Advanced knowledge of industry, market, and products

• Proven ability to develop, nurture and monetize “trusted advisor” client relationships with senior executives 

• Leverage advanced analytical and technical skills combined with a problem solving skills

• Communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely in a complex, matrixed environment

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience

• At least 7 years of corporate banking experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 10 years of corporate banking experience

• FINRA Licenses: Series 79 and 63

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
