Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Enrolled Agent to join our tax team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns, representing clients before the IRS, and providing expert tax planning and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120, 1065, etc.)
• Represent clients before the IRS for audits, collections, and appeals
• Research complex tax issues and provide clear, concise solutions and guidance
• Respond to IRS notices and correspondence on behalf of clients
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities
• Assist with bookkeeping, payroll tax filings, and sales tax compliance as needed
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high-quality service
• Maintain accurate and organized client records and documentation

Qualifications

• Active Enrolled Agent (EA) license in good standing with the IRS
• 2+ years of experience in tax preparation and representation
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws
• Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, Pitbull Tax) and accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a public accounting firm
• Bilingual (especially Spanish) is a plus
• Familiarity with IRS e-services and electronic filing
