Sodexo Senior Living is seeking an Executive Chef 1for Citizens Care located in  Frederick, Maryland . Aurora Citizens Care is a long-term care and rehab center serving approximately 150-175 residents.   This is an entry-level Executive Chef opportunity to grow your career and provide excellent service to our residents. Candidates will have experience with ordering, training, mentoring cooks, and a strong knowledge of safety and sanitation. The typical shift will be 9:00 am-5:00 pm, may vary with every other weekend coverage. 

What You'll Do:
  • oversee the daily food production;
  • handle the food ordering;
  • be hands on and cook daily;
  • ensure safety and sanitation compliance;
  • train and mentor cooks;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and train employees; and
  • knowledge of Food Management Systems/Software is preferred.

What You Bring:
  • a strong culinary background with the ability to successfully lead, develop and train a team;
  • prior institutional food service experience in hospitals or senior living is a plus;
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implement company policies;
  • strong management skills;
  • a strong understanding of forecasting, food cost management, purchasing, and inventory;
  • proficient computer skills as well as exceptional organizational skills;
  • ServSafe certified as well as working knowledge of HACCP and experience with Health and Safety audits.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
