Job Title: Associate Design Manager

Client Location: San Francisco, CA (4x onsite, Friday remote)

Starting: 03/03/2025

Salary/Pay Rate: $39.00 - $45.00/hour

Hours: Full-time

Duration: 3+ months with possible extension

Job Description:

We are looking for a smart, creative person to support the Design Manager(s) and Vice President of Store Design with the development of assigned projects from initial site identification by the Corporate Real Estate team through Design Development, Construction, and project opening. This role will also work closely with Store Development (Real Estate and Construction) and Store Operations/Visual Merchandising, and external consultants such as architects, fixture manufacturers, and general contractors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides support for Design Manager(s) and VP Store Design on a single brand.
  • Liaison between Store Development and internal business partners. Participates in meetings with business partners to review plans, project schedules, and operational requirements.
  • Reviews initial Real Estate transmittals for accurate information and effective communication.
  • Assists Design Managers and Construction Project Managers with preliminary layouts.
  • Coordinates with architects and Store Design/Construction team for REC approval.
  • Coordinates with Real Estate planner, architects, and Design Manager to compile the final Design Development package for REC approval.
  • Maintains design “hot list” for assigned projects and issues weekly reports in conjunction with Design Manager.
  • Assists Design Managers and Construction Project Managers with presentation packages for Brand President meetings.
  • Assists with submittal tracking for physical and digital files on assigned projects, including samples, drawing sets, and shop drawings.
  • With Construction Coordinator, act as system administrator for online document storage for managing construction documents, shop drawings, renderings, photos, etc.
  • Work with PMs and DMs to monitor weekly site construction photos and maintain communication with business partners regarding progress.
  • Miscellaneous administrative tasks including but not limited to copies, note-taking, distribution of notes and fielding of calls and questions.
  • Works with Repairs and Maintenance on established brands.
  • Some travel may be required

Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Experience or knowledge of retail design, construction, and schedules preferred
  • Degree in architecture, interior design, construction management, or similar field preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Office suite of products.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign strongly preferred
  • Strong organization and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Great attention to detail and sense of design
  • Passion for Innovation

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $39 - $45/hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with company match (if applicable).
