Salary : $32,052.80 Annually Location : Kilgore, TX Job Type: Part Time Job Number: 011621 Department: Library Opening Date: 06/11/2025 Coordinates and performs a variety of circulation duties on behalf of the Kilgore Public Library; provides customer service to the public; respond sto circulation and/or other types of library inquiries; updates and maintains patron account records; assists in maintaining library facilities , equipment, and collection materials; assists with programming where needed; and perform there related duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Staffs the circulation desk and provides customer service to patrons in person and via telephone.
• Responds to various types of circulation and/or other general library inquiries; communicates and explains the Library's policies and procedures to the public.
• Performs a variety of circulation duties; issues library cards; prepares TexShare cards; checks items in and out; renews materials; processes hold requests.
• Monitors and notifies patrons of missing/damaged materials and/or other account issues. Collects and receipts library fees/fines; sell/recharges print and copy accounts; receives monies for Friends of the Library book sales, balances and maintains cash box and end of day receipts.
• Contacts patrons by telephone regarding the availability of requested items and/or returned mail. Inputs, updates, and maintains patron account information in the Library's computer system.
• Generates overdue notices and patron billing correspondence; places blocks on library cards as required; researches and assists in resolving patron records issues.
• Assists patrons with basic reference inquiries and/or in locating library materials as well as catalog training. Assists patrons with computers and Interlibrary Loans.
• Prepares items for shelving; places books and audiovisual items on display shelves. Empties book drop; delivers closing announcements.
• Prepares items for circulation, unpacks material shipments, maintains office supplies and submits orders for replacements.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIROMENT: Work is performed in a public library environment. Subject to sitting, standing for extended period, walking, bending reaching, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds. Must able to push/pull library carts and lift/carry library materials up to 125 pounds. Minimum qualifications & Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent;and two years circulation/customerservice experience; OR an equivalentcombination ofeducation and experience.Must possess a valid Texas Driver'sLicense.
