Position Title: Mobile Crisis Response Team Lead

Department: Mobile Crisis Response (MCR)

Reports to: Mobile Crisis Response Supervisor

About the Program:

The Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) program will add to our continuum of care, enhancing our ability to provide timely and effective crisis intervention and support to individuals and families in our community. This program will operate with an after-hours crisis line, providing round-the-clock support for individuals in need, highlighting our unwavering commitment to ensuring help is available at any time and emphasizing our dedication to serving the most vulnerable and those in urgent need of assistance.

Position Objective and Summary:

UCAN is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to serve as the Mobile Crisis Response Team Lead. This position involves leading a team of crisis responders during weekend hours, ensuring the provision of high-quality, immediate crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental health crises. The Team Lead will coordinate response activities, support team members, and maintain compliance with program standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Team Leadership
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the Mobile Crisis Response Team during weekend hours.
  • Provide guidance, support, and supervision to team members, ensuring effective and timely crisis intervention.
  • Conduct regular team check-ins and facilitate communication among team members.

Crisis Intervention
  • Oversee and participate in crisis intervention services, including assessment, de-escalation, and stabilization of individuals in crisis.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely responses to crisis calls and referrals.
  • Provide direct crisis intervention services as necessary.

Coordination and Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Mobile Crisis Response Supervisor to implement and uphold crisis response protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other UCAN programs and community partners to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of services.
  • Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and other community resources as needed.

Training and Support
  • Assist in the training and development of new team members.
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of crisis intervention and mental health.

Documentation and Reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all crisis response activities.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis to monitor program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Mobile Crisis Response Supervisor as required.

Education/Job Experience/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensure (LSW, LPC, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in crisis intervention or mental health services.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.

Special Knowledge and Qualifications:
  • Strong clinical skills in crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and composure.
  • Proficiency in data management and report writing.

Working Environment: Must be available to work during (day, evening, or weekend) hours with some flexibility as needed. Ability to travel within the service area as needed. Work may involve exposure to high-risk situations and emotionally charged environments. UCAN
