Job Description

A Model-Based Definition Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Fort Worth, TX. This is a full-time, direct position with benefits. Great matching candidates will need a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, be able to work onsite at customer's facility in Dallas-Fort Worth area for duration of project, and have approximately 5+ years of applicable experience. In this role, you will be contributing to the conceptual structural design of a new rotorcraft product.

Job Duties:

* Create 3D models with 2D annotations of drive metallic parts, rotor metallic parts, airframe metallic parts, and rotor composite parts for a rotorcraft application. Components will have a broad range of complexity.

* Develop and manage technical engineering documentation including bill of materials, trade studies, quality documents, and technical evaluations.

* Actively participate in customer-hosted Design Reviews and provide supporting presentations where required.

* Provide and maintain synchronization across all applicable engineering disciplines (e.g. manufacturing, structural analysis, mechanical systems, etc.), both internally and externally.

* Successfully operate in team environment by coordinating with both internal teams and external customers at all times.

* Demonstrate ability to accurately receive/interpret/extrapolate engineering direction, whether verbal or written

* Own development, maturation, and support release of product through customer's lifecycle.

* Successfully operate within confines of key performance indexes such as project schedule and financial budget.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline

* 5+ years of strong, applicable experience in product definition

* Extensive experience with model-based definition in Dassault Catia 3DX environment, including experience with surface modeling along complex curvatures

* Experience designing with hard & soft metals and composite materials

* Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and standard aerospace tolerance practice

* Experience / knowledge of industry standards developed for, or supportive of MBD (ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.41, AMSE Y14.47, MIL-STD-31000)

* In-depth knowledge of industry-standard specifications, tools, and procedures

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skill, both written and verbal, with ability to accomplish assignments in either independent or in team-setting

* U.S. Citizen required

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

* Experience reviewing engineering drawings and related documents for technical accuracy

* ASME Y14.5 GD&T Certification

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $100,000 to $160,000; however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
