Currently, ManTech is seeking a highly motivated, career and customer-oriented Navy Combat Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing Systems Engineering support to the customers Technical Director in support of combat systems development and integration on the Zumwalt-class destroyers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert advising the Technical Director on all matters related to systems engineering and integration of combat systems on the Zumwalt ship class.
  2. Develop briefing materials, meeting agendas, minutes, and track resolution of action items.
  3. Directly support the Technical Director in development and management of programmatic areas including but not limited to the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) process and Risk Management.
  4. Work independently and advise senior naval personnel on a wide range of Naval Combat systems engineering matters.
  5. Identify, report, and assist with the resolution of program issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  2. 5+ years of experience in Navy Combat Systems Engineering.
  3. Understanding of the Navy Program Objective Memorandum (POM) process.
  4. Some experience with Risk Management.
  5. Strong demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Active duty Navy experience in AEGIS combat systems.

Clearance Requirements:

Must possess an active or current U.S. Government Secret security clearance and U.S. Citizenship.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
  2. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  3. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  4. Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
  5. Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  6. May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.

The projected compensation range for this position is $96,100.00-$159,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
