Are you a passionate OT or COTA looking to make a meaningful impact in students' lives? We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team in La Mesa, California . This role is based in a school setting , working closely with students, educators, and families to support the development of fine motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, and functional skills that promote success in the classroom and beyond.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Provide individual and group therapy services to students in preschool through 8th grade (exact caseload TBD based on experience and district needs)
Conduct evaluations and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, speech therapists, psychologists, and administrators
Offer consultation and in-class support to help students access the curriculum and school environment
Document services and progress toward IEP goals in compliance with district and state guidelines
Start Date: ASAP (within 12 weeks preferred)
Schedule: Full-time preferred, part-time considered
Duration: Through December 2025 (winter break), with potential extension through the 20252026 school year
Location: On-site at one or more school campuses in La Mesa, CA
Caseload: To be determined; will be tailored based on your experience, preferences, and student needs
Active California Occupational Therapy License (OTR/L) or COTA certification required
School-based experience is highly preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply
Strong understanding of sensory integration, motor development, and functional school-based OT interventions
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
