About the Organizer Role

As an Organizer, you’ll be on the front lines of building power with everyday people across the political spectrum. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Organizing and working as part of our national field team, you’ll build relationships with our members - many of whom have never organized before - and help them take meaningful action to improve their economic lives. You’ll meet people where they are, listen to their concerns, engage in conversations, bridge divides, and inspire action. You’ll connect with people who may disagree with you, yet you’ll find common ground in the shared goal of creating real economic change.

You’ll also collaborate closely with team members across the organization, ensuring that insights from the field help shape our strategy and strengthen our movement.

If you’re passionate about grassroots organizing, community building, and empowering people to take action, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact with members daily by phone, SMS, and video chat
  • Complete on-the-ground fieldwork, such as member mobilization for events, meetings, and training
  • Establish and maintain deep relationships with other everyday working Americans
  • Work with internal teams to identify and prepare members to tell their stories to media and social platforms, elected officials and staff, and other press outlets
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to execute organizational goals
  • Complete and support other tasks within the Advocacy purview

Requirements

  • Demonstrated commitment to economic security for individuals, working families, and communities
  • Demonstrated commitment to the elevation of directly impacted people to share their stories and voices on issues affecting their families and communities
  • Interest in virtual and digital relationship building and organizing; must be comfortable connecting with individuals over the phone, SMS, and video chat
  • Clear, concrete, and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of learning how to navigate and deescalate difficult conversations
  • High level of comfort with Google Suite and a willingness to learn digital organizing tools (P2P SMS like ThruText, ThruTalk, Strive, and others)
  • Ability to take initiative and to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment at a growing organization
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • All levels of educational attainment are welcome

Benefits

At WorkMoney, Inc., we're proud to offer a robust benefits package designed to support your overall well-being and professional growth. In addition to competitive salaries, we invest in your success and create a work environment that's as dynamic and rewarding as the work we do! We fully cover the premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, our retirement plan includes up to a 6% employer match for IRA contributions and we contribute toward your student debt repayment. You'll enjoy five weeks of paid vacation each year, alongside generous paid family and medical leaves. To further enhance your work experience, we offer stipends for remote work expenses, professional development, health & wellness, and cell/internet data usage.

This is a union position subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement with IBEW Local 89. The starting salary for this position is $82,000.00, and as part of our commitment to pay transparency and equity in our organization, is non-negotiable.
