Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Specialist to join our cannabis manufacturing team. This role focuses exclusively on post-post-harvest operations, including flower packaging, preroll production and packaging, and inventory tracking. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in cannabis production, specifically with operating automated packaging systems and maintaining compliance in a regulated environment. Experience with equipment like pre-roll cone filling machines, weigh-and-fill systems, heat sealers, and labelers is essential. Familiarity with METRC for compliance tracking and Dutchie for inventory integration is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Automated Packaging Operations
    • Operate and monitor a variety of automated cannabis packaging systems, including weigh-and-fill machines, heat sealers, cone-filling machines, and labelers, ensuring all equipment runs efficiently and safely.
    • Set up, calibrate, and adjust equipment based on product specifications and production goals.
    • Perform routine checks and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure consistent output
Flower Packaging
    • Accurately weigh and package trimmed cannabis flower into retail-ready containers.
    • Apply compliant labeling and verify all batch-specific information.
    • Operate and maintain automated weigh-and-fill and heat-sealing equipment.
Preroll Production & Packaging
    • Operate preroll equipment (e.g., cone filling machines) and perform hand-finishing as needed.
    • Package prerolls individually or into multi-packs according to product specs.
    • Ensure all preroll units meet visual, weight, and quality standards.
Production Line Operation
    • Set up and calibrate packaging lines to meet daily production targets.
    • Monitor equipment during operation; perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
    • Keep production areas clean, stocked, and organized throughout the shift.
Inventory & Compliance
    • Track material usage, waste, and finished goods in alignment with internal SOPs and METRC compliance.
    • Assist with inventory reconciliation and digital record-keeping.
    • Use platforms such as METRC and Dutchie to log production batches and maintain inventory accuracy.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
    • Work closely with QA and compliance teams to ensure regulatory standards are met.
    • Identify and recommend improvements to workflow efficiency and product quality.
    • Maintain clear and accurate production logs and documentation.
Education & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in cannabis post-harvest operations.
  • Proven experience operating automated cannabis packaging equipment.
  • Familiarity with METRC and Dutchie systems strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis flower quality attributes and handling techniques.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve plant or equipment issues effectively.
  • Willingness to work in compliance with strict security and regulatory requirements.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • A willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, if required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds if relevant to job duties listed above.
  • Hand dexterity and the ability to do repetitive movement.
  • Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the workday.
  • Work in a controlled environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, masks, and lab coats as required.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
