As a
Public Relations and Communications Manager , you will play a pivotal role as a working manager in shaping and executing our organization’s communication strategies. Your responsibilities will span both internal and external communication channels, ensuring consistent messaging and brand representation. You’ll be the voice of our company, engaging with various stakeholders, including clients, media outlets, and employees.
This position will work within our Corporate Marketing department.
Primary Responsibilities Will Include Content Creation and Management
- Craft compelling narratives, media pitches and articles related to automation industry trends, product updates, and corporate events. Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Develop a deep understanding of the automation industry, including trends, challenges, and emerging technologies.
- Translate technical concepts into accessible content for both experts and non-experts.
- Familiarize yourself with our automation products, their features, benefits, and use cases.
- Create compelling product descriptions, user guides, and case studies.
- Apply SEO best practices to enhance content visibility and drive organic traffic.
- Concept and develop engaging content for corporate newsletter – keeping customers informed about automation success stories, new products, corporate milestones and tradeshows.
- Draft and distribute press releases to announce significant company news or product launches.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, respond to media inquiries, and create press kits.
Strategic Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and standardize the brand voice across all communication materials and ensure consistent communications processes.
- Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures for various situations, including crises.
- Work closely with leadership and subject matter experts to develop and further industry thought leadership efforts.
- Build and maintain key relationships with customers, associations and industry influencers that support marketing and communications storytelling opportunities.
- Assist in creating and implementing communication policies that align with the company’s values and goals.
Modern Communication Strategies
- Leverage artificial intelligence tools to enhance communication processes. Stay updated on AI trends and explore innovative ways to incorporate AI into our communication efforts.
- Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with business objectives, ensuring that our messaging resonates with our target audience.
- Act as a spokesperson for the company, participating in interviews and media interactions.
Management Skills
- Mentor and guide communication team members, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Oversee communication projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Manage communication budgets effectively.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and education: - Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight years of experience in a position specifically related to journalism or other business communications.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% to attend tradeshows and other business-related events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and their applications in communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Experience in leading a team by mentoring and guiding communication team members and fostering collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Public Relations, Communication or a related field.
- Over ten years of experience in journalism or business communications, with a preference for strong technical and press release writing skills.
- Proven experience in communications in an automation or manufacturing industry.
