We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our Accounting + Finance team. This is a permanent position that will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all our team members. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety audits, and leading investigations into workplace accidents. This role will also involve providing safety training, maintaining safety records, and collaborating with management and teams to improve safety measures. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role and a strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Lead investigations into workplace accidents and near misses, and recommend corrective actions/preventive measures.
  • Provide safety training and assist in program roll outs, safety updates and changes to procedures.
  • Maintain and update safety records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with management and teams to identify potential hazards and implement safety improvements.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures.
  • Stay updated on new safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Conduct new hire safety training.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst employees.
  • Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain records of safety training and incidents.
  • Inspect equipment, working conditions, and maintain OSHA files and supporting documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Bilingual-Spanish speaking required for consideration.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and implement safety improvements.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Proven ability to develop and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Experience providing safety training and maintaining safety records and documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with management and teams.
  • Proficiency in maintaining OSHA files and supporting documents.
  • Ability to stay updated on new safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Strong commitment to promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
