Contribute: As a Software Engineering Manager on Sentry’s Commercial Lines IT team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the software development lifecycle. In addition, you will:
Oversee a team of software engineers and analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
Be responsible for building a cohesive team, assigning tasks, and ensuring that team members have the resources they need to succeed.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define product vision that aligns with business objectives and strategy.
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and
timeline constraints and are aligned with product vision.
Implement and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality control processes to maintain high software quality and performance.
Administer human resource-related activities including timely performance and salary reviews and ensure all subordinates adhere to human resources policies and practices.
What it Takes:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
Proven experience in software development and team management.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
Ability to communicate, both written and presentation, to appropriate audiences.
Knowledge of the insurance industry preferred.
Experience with Guidewire applications strongly preferred.
