Working Title: Special Events & Sports Clubs Coordinator Department: Student Activities & Events Appointment Type: This is a one-year temporary appointment from date of hire, with potential for renewal. Time Base: Full Time (1.0 FTE) Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Salary: $5,540.00 monthly ($66,480.00 annually), commensurate with experience. Position Summary Under the direction of the Associate Director of Campus Recreation, the incumbent oversees major special events at the Mashouf Wellness Center, supporting student engagement and development outside the classroom. Responsibilities include program management, risk management, and working with student employees and interns to align work with campus goals and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement policies, procedures, and event planning structures for campus events. Coordinate with campus entities for event support and logistics. Manage and oversee sport club operations, including risk management, insurance, and compliance. Supervise and train student staff, including scheduling and payroll. Ensure safety and risk protocols are followed for all activities. Manage budgets, inventory, and equipment maintenance. Gather data, assess program effectiveness, and report on outcomes. Minimum Qualifications Three years of professional student services experience, with a master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field substituting for one year. Knowledge of student development, program management, and risk mitigation is required. Preferred Qualifications Master’s in Sports Management, Recreation, or related field. Experience with program development, event planning, and sports clubs. Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills. Knowledge of NIRSA standards and campus policies. Additional Requirements First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Ability to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends. Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations and work in outdoor/indoor settings.
