Responsibilities SUMMARY Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Drives truck to destination. Truck type may vary based on assignment - flat bed, stake bed or closed box trailers.
- Prepares receipts for load picked up.
- Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains telephone contact with supervisor or lead to receive delivery instructions.
- Loads and unloads truck.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
- Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Current Class "A" driver's license with 2 years experience.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Strong communication skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
PAY RATE $26.00-$31.00/hr
