Our client, a highly respected and long-standing leader within the industrial manufacturing sector, is seeking a driven and technically astute Technical Sales Engineer to join their dynamic team in the Sharon, Ohio area. About the Role

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be instrumental in fostering business development and cultivating strong relationships with both new and existing customers. Your focus will be on expanding the market presence of their resistance welding product lines, encompassing new welders, automation solutions, spare parts, and consumable copper products. You will leverage your technical acumen and exceptional communication skills to:

  • Identify and pursue new sales prospects, effectively managing leads and inquiries.
  • Gather critical customer data to develop tailored proposals and presentations.
  • Conduct thorough follow-ups on submitted quotations and proactively advance the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate closely with internal Sales Application Engineers and various Product Groups to ensure seamless customer solutions and achieve ambitious sales targets.
  • Provide valuable customer feedback to Product Management, influencing the development of new products that address evolving market needs.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for both internal teams and external clients.
  • Facilitate technical and commercial meetings, effectively communicating the value proposition of the company's offerings.
  • Negotiate customer terms and conditions to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities within the CRM system.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, post-secondary technical certification, or equivalent practical experience.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 3 years of proven success in technical industrial capital equipment business-to-business sales.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, with specific experience in resistance welding and machine automation/controls being a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally (approximately 40-50%).
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong alignment with the company's core values.

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial business-to-business sales.
  • Direct sales experience with resistance welding and automated assembly systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks (or similar CAD software).
